The detector is intended for automatic control of switching on of the lighting outside a building (or other electrical devices) after detection of motion nearby its installation site. The core of the device is the passive infrared sensor with the motion detection angle amounting to about 180 degrees. The motion is detected via measurement of the ambient temperature change within the set sensor's visibility sector, as a consequence of motion of the person who is present there.
If a person appears within the visibility sector of the sensor, the lighting (or other sensor-controlled electrical device) is switched on automatically and remains in this state as long as the motion sensor detects the presence (motion) within the „vision„ field. If no presence is detected within specific time (set by the user), the lighting (or other electrical device) is switched off automatically.
The sensor is additionally equipped with a special photo-optical sensor which, as an option, allows the energy to be saved without switching on the lighting e.g. during the day.
