Advantages

Xblitz Ghost is one of the least expensive dash cams available.

It features an interesting style and original design of a well-fitting metal housing. Large lens gives a professional digital camera look. Recorded videos and intuitive menu are displayed on a large 3” screen. Like other Xblitz dash cams, Ghost starts automatically at power on (by turning the key in the ignition switch) and shuts down several seconds after the engine is turned off.

Disadvantages

However, the quality of recorded video leaves much to be desired. The manufacturer declares Full HD resolution, however the image is slightly blurry. Also, WDR does not work as expected. Whereas during the day the dash cam works fine, at night, in particular in low light areas, the video is noisy, dark and lacks details. Also, the field of view is relatively low at 120 degrees. The buttons on both sides of the device are not easily accessible, making it difficult to navigate the menu. The rating of the video quality was also reduced by the quality of recorded sound at higher volumes, e.g. crackling sounds when driving on uneven surfaces, and the legacy AVI video format. It offers low compression ratio, which means that the video recorded on the memory card have large size and lower quality compared to MOV files recorded by other Xblitz models.
