Advantages

Xblitz Park View car driving recorder is a combination of a rear-view mirror and a dash cam. It also features an auxiliary rear camera recording images in 640x480 pixel quality. Installation procedure is identical to the Mirror model. The device is attached to a rear view mirror, and the rubber bands must be tight to avoid vibrations affecting the image quality.

The device is made of high quality plastics with buttons at the front for easy menu navigation. Large 4” display on the right side of the device provides preview of images recorded by both rear and front camera. Fig. 1 - 5 show different preview options.

In all display modes, the device records images from both cameras in two separate folders (A and B) stored on the memory card. The recordings from the rear camera and the front camera are stored in individual folders. The rear camera also features IR diodes supplied from an external source (e.g. rear lights).
In reverse gear with the IR diodes connected to the rear lights, the display will switch to the rear camera and display guide lines for easy reverse parking.
As in all Xblitz models - Park View starts automatically after connecting the power supply, usually by turning the key in the ignition and shuts down several seconds after turning the engine off. The device camera features a ball joint for easy adjustment without changing the position of the rear view mirror.

Disadvantages

However, as in the Mirror model, the quality of recorded image leaves much to be desired. The recording quality, both at night and during the day is worse compared to Dual Core model also featuring dual-camera setup. The images are recorded in a legacy AVI format producing low quality and low compression images. The images produced by both front and rear camera are jittery and low detail, and may occasionally skip or stutter.
The mirror features an anti-reflective coating and is darker than a standard rear-view mirror which may affect some drivers. The device, due to its weight and installation method requires a stiff and rigid rear view mirror to ensure stable image.
