Xblitz dash cam ranking

Check out our tests of the dash cams with image recording function. We have used the same test conditions for all dash cam models for easy identification of any differences in the recorded image quality. The paired recordings correspond to the videos recorded on the same route in day and night conditions.

The review also includes pros and cons of each device, rating of material quality, recorded video quality and quality to price ratio.

High-end

Three out of all the tested dash cams can be considered high-range models. XB-P100 is an obvious leader when it comes to both the device quality and the video quality. The rating is slightly lowered by its high price. The models rated just below the leader offer a slightly lower image quality. These are XB-Night and XB-P500. The former is the best choice considering both the price and the quality.

The family of tested models has been extended by another device - XB-NaviiGPS. The recording quality is similar to other models XB-Night and XB-P500. The device has a built-in GPS module and records images with vehicle speed and position data. GPS function is a great choice considering both the price and the quality.

Mid-end

XB-Go and XB-Black-Bird can be considered mid-range models. The video quality and the performance of those models is adequate. XB-Go stands out with the overall quality, however, XB-Black-Bird offers an excellent price to quality ratio.

The family of tested models also includes another device - XB-Dual-Core. It is an interesting device featuring a dual-camera setup. A decent image quality, high quality materials and price to quality ratio (dual cameras) place the device in a mid-end of our ranking.

Low-end

XB-Ghost, XB-Classic and XB-Limited are low-range models. These are standard budget cameras and one of the least expensive options available. Legacy AVI file format affects the image quality and compression ratio and yields low quality videos. The lowest rated dash cam is XB-Limited, which as its name suggests offers truly limited performance.

The low-end includes two tested models: XB-Mirror and XB-Park-View. The devices are a combination of a rear-view mirror and a dash cam. The latter also features an auxiliary camera, which can also be used as a reversing camera. Unfortunately, those models also use a legacy AVI format offering low compression and low quality video recordings.
