HD-TVI - video signal transmission standardHD-TVI, also referred to as TurboHD was introduced by Hikvision.

HD-CVI is a proprietary standard developed by Dahua Technology. It offers two resolutions: HD (1280 x 720) and Full HD (1920 x 1080). HD – 1280 x 720 px Full HD – 1920 x 1080 px 3 Mpx – 2048 x 1536 px 4 Mpx – 2688 x 1520 px 5 Mpx – 2560 x 1944 px 8 Mpx 4K UHD – 3840 x 2160 px
The technology supports two resolutions: 1280x720 px and 1920x1080 px. The video is transmitted in real-time.
Video, audio and control signals can be sent via a single coaxial cable - Fig. 1. |

Full compatibility of HD-TVI recorders with analogue cameras allows to gradually replace PAL cameras with HD cameras. The recorders offered by the manufacturer, apart from HD-TVI and PAL cameras, also support IP cameras (depending on the model, connected via a proprietary or Onvif protocol).
The system can be connected using coaxial cables or twisted pair cables. Maximum distance, as specified by the manufacturer is up to 500 m – for RG-59 cable. However, the tests show that the maximum distance without any deterioration of the image quality is 400 m - both at 1080p and 720p.

For UTP-based systems, the maximum distance is approx. 150 m. The maximum distance may differ depending on the video balun used.
