DESCRIPTION

The OPV-16S protects all wires of the twisted-pair cable carrying away the stroke current to the ground. It effectively protects the electronic devices. The overvoltage limiter is used for applications with differential video signal transmission via twisted-pair cable. The OPV-16S does not affect video signal quality and no supplying is required (passive device).


ATTENTION! Before installation please read the following instructions: Any installation work cannot be led during thunderstorm. The OPV-16S requires good quality grounding installation. The limiter should be placed as near as possible to the protected device.

    Overvoltage limiter protects all eight wires of the twisted-pair cable (4-pairs)
    The protection has three main blocks

  • The Gas Spark Arrester (GSA) which carries a lot of the electric charge to the ground and limits the overvoltage up to several dozen volts
  • The Delayed System which allows to increase the GSA operating time
  • The Protection Diodes to compensate the voltage among wires up to 2.4V and to carries the high potential charges to the ground
