1080p resolution consists of 1080 horizontal lines. ‘p’ denotes a progressive scan (non-interlaced). 1920x1080 resolution corresponds to approx. 2.1 megapixel at 16:9 aspect ratio.

The default refresh rate depends on the region. For PAL systems, the default refresh rate is 25 fps. If the refresh rate is different than default, it is added to the logo on the right side of ‘p’, e.g. 1080p50, 1080p60.
